The number of heart patients is steadily increasing. An alarming feature is that heart attacts are occuring at an earlier age.
Switching to a low fat diet, and education about heart ailments can reverse heart diesese. People, however, prefer bypass surgery and angioplasty, but they are expensive. A balanced diet consisting of plenty of fruits, vegetables and a reasonable quantity of cereals and pulses is the best diet for health and happiness and is also ideally suitable for keeping a check on diseases such as strokes, heart attacks and cancer. What is your idea of healthy lifestyle?

the information that you are giving here are all true. people nowadays suffer so much from heart illnesses because of hte way of life that they are having. to be rid of the condition is actually easy... simply have a healthy lifestyle. but people would prefer to have a happy careless life. they say that life is short and thus they'd better enjoy it. these fastfoods are usually serving heavily high caloric and fatty foods, but since these are more appealing and easily available, people just simply engulf them. oh, well...it is nice of you to have posted this discussion.

We have taken our health for granted, that is leading a happy careless life. Only when we become adults and when we feel a run down in our health that we realise we had not taken good care of our health. The food taken into our bodies influences our thoughts patterns. Our thoughts, both concious and subconscious are in absolute control of our body's health. The maintenance of our health should be our first duty.

i really appreciate your post. i feel heart disease is a disease of life style and we can control it to great extent simply by modifying our daily routine. however, sometimes we do need angioplasty or bypass surgery, its not out of preference but out of compulsion. we have to treat heart disease at the earliest and then make sure we continue living a physically active life.
for me healhy lifestyle means, healthy eating, brisk walking or doing exercise, swimming and healthy thinking.
thanx.

I think you hit the nail right on the head with what you just wrote. People would rather have heart attacks and go through surgeries before giveing up their junk foods and pops. I think eating healthy nuts is good for the health to. I love eating sunflower seeds and cashews and other nuts. They are high in protein and give your afternoon a good energy boost to keep yo going for a few hours atleast. vegetables and fruits are very important in ones health. You can live to a ripe old age if you eat a well balanced meal everyday ot's ok to splurge occasionally on a favorite meal sometimes it is good to use as a reward for staying on a healthy diet. Broccoli and tomatoes fight cancer and health problems. Meat is okay in small doses like 2-4 ozs but shouldn't be more then that. I buy a great ceral by Kellogs for a healthy heart and another one for antioxidents. Well worht the price when it is your body they are going into to help you live a long healthy life and a box of ceral does awhile when you eat it in moderation by the amount it says to on the box for a serving. Not much help if your eating a half box per meal..and using lowfat or fat free milk is good and if made right fat free milk is good and tasty and cheaper then the 4.29 cents that we pay for milk now days atleast where I live.

I agree with you that we should all keep a low fat diet and be educated about heart ailments. Other than that, we should also exercise and keep stress to a minimum or at least learn how to handle stress. My Mother-In-Law who is in her fifties has just undergone 4 bypass operation. She is even unaware that her arteries are clogged... My husband has just undergone a general health screening and has discovered that his cholesterol level is pretty high and had to consumed medication to keep it down. Yes, all these cost a lot of money. Thus, from then on, we have switch our diets....

It is a lot healthier and cheaper to try to eat a well-balanced diet and get the right amount of exercise than to have to go through bypass surgery and all the other suffering of heart disease.

Its a matter of self dicipline. One should exercise regularly and eat a balance diet in order to avoid heart attack.

I also heard that one should switch to whole brain products, avoid white flour and things made with white flour. Also using natural grains, brown rice instead of white rice, etc. would help. And cutting down on preserved food that have lots of salt added. It amazes me that somewhere where one can get fresh fruit and vegetables all year at a reasonable price, the people are starting to get heart attacks.

There are many foods that we should have taken to have a healthy body but due to our couldn't care less attitude we have neglected our health far too long causing many people getting heart attacks even at a young age. Heat attacks are no longer attacking the older generation. It has become a modern disease.

It is always easy to store fats than to remove it. There is a reason for that and it all dates back to stone age. Back in the past, when we were still cavemen, food is scarce and not everyday, we will be able to have a good meal and fat storage is important for our survival. It was necessary to be fat because thin people can not survive long.I will try using some weight loss supplement ans combine it with exercise to maximize its effects.
