Is it true that cats fur gives allergic reaction such as asthma?

I don't know if its really true.. My parents would always reminds me about the fur that it would give allergic reaction such as asthma.. Cats are not the only animals that has fur..
Why blame cats? lol..
i also do have a cat, and I do like cats..^_^
What do you think about this?

not all asthmatics react to cats-i had 6 when i was younger,they never bothered me.
i was told it was the natural skin flakes,not the fur that trigger people.all you have to do is bathe them regularly if so (or have a groomer do it)
i don't know why people blame cats in general either.it's weird.

yeah it's kinda weird that everyone is blaming the cats.. lol.. I do have a cat,he really hates it when we bathe him,he would scratch your hands too and "meow" every loud.. lol.. It's really nice to have a cat though they steal foods in our table.. lol..

It's the dander that causes alergies and makes asthmatics worse. I am allergic to my two, and my eyes swell and itch.

Animals do not cause Asthma, however people can be allercic to diffrent kinds of animals, and bugs. These allergies can lead to an Asthma attack if the Asthma is not well controlled.
