How do you feel you differ from your own parent when it comes to parenting? Do you take more interest in your children that they did with you and your siblings? Do you spend more time with them than your parents did with you? Are you more or less strict than they were? Does your children know you more than you know your own parents when growing up with them? Do you participate more or less in child care than your parents did with you? To you, what is the significance of parenthood, would you share it with us?

I am totally opposite in my parenting style to the way my mother and her husband were....the only thing I learned from them was how NOT to parent actually....
Yes I've always had great interest in my children and still do....My home is one of open conversation and communication is very key...we talk about everything and nothing is hidden or forbidden etc..My kids know all about me and I know all about them and what goes on in their heads etc....I think its important to be that way not only becuase they are your kids but because its one of the key habits that keeps them safe..As for how strict I am...LOL I'm not really...i mean I have rules of course but I'm a very laid back parent, always have been always will be....and its worked out great for us.....many ppl dont understand it but thats fine, they dont need to IMO....so long as we are happy, healthy and a loving family unit thn thats all tht matters
