J-horror film is term used to refer Japanese contributions to horror fiction in popular culture. Whereas American modern day horror films tend to rely on special effects and a multitude of subgenres (like slashers,demons,extraterrestials),J-horror tends to pocus on psychological horror and tension building,particularly involving ghost and poltergeist.
