should we refrain the kids from watching television at home

television is a good pastime at home.. where we can be updated at all times. but as for the children at home they tend to get themselves busy with programs they like than doing thier homework. i planned not to have television at home but i also wanted to update things esp news at night.. i dont know what to do..

You can always watch the late news at night where the children wouldn't see the ones that are just violent to watch. Or you can watch the news online when they are not around. You can use TV as a reward for them to do their homework. Like you can say "You can watch tv, when you are done with your homework". Or you can have a no TV policy on a school day. There are so many activities that you can do together with your kids to make the most of the free time without TV. You can play board games with them, read them a story or just do activities that would interest them. With your imagination and creativity life without TV wouldn't be boring at all.
