I am looking to move from Illinois. I have never been far from my mom, now I'm ready to pack up my family and go. I have really been considering Georgia. Can anyone tell me anything good or bad to help me decide this major move?

Come on down to the south. I too made that major move. I lived in western NY and packed up the car and moved south. I lived in NC, florida and SC for over 10 years now and have not moved back north.
Georgia, just like everywhere else, has it's good and bad. But the warm sunshine and even warmer southern hospitality will make you want to stay. Savannah is a great little town to live in. Atlanta is a big city. So if you want a city, that's the one to go to. I personally have not spent that much time there.
Good luck to ya!

My first and main question to you is , why are you moving. Is there a problem that can be resolved without leaving home or will you taking the problem with you? Whereever you go, I would first contact the Chamber of Commerce for the city that you plan on moving to and get some information on the locality.

Change is not always bad and thank you for responding back. Just a few words to help you out. When you respond to a discussion, make sure that your response is atleast four lines long or you will not get credit for your response.

I just moved away from Georgia due to my hubby job transferring him. I liked it there had been there for about 12 years. Houses are cheap and the weather is nice (although summer can sometimes be grueling). I would suggest living in Lithonia or Conyers not Decatur. Good luck!
