Do you think riches would make you happy? If somebody gave you a large sum of money would you not be pleased?Probably you would. But is the relationship between money and happiness?Do you think that happiness is a by-product of wealth? The answers to these questions maybe difficult because money can be measured but happiness cannot be measured. So how we can say that wealth brings happiness?

i feel that some money is necessary for fulfilling the basic requirements of life without which its difficult to remain happy, but after that level it doesn't matter. Hovering after money after that makes ur life meaningless and dull, enqueuing u in the wild n blind race of money making..
so we must pay more attention to other things other than money as well that can lead to happiness

A study was done about winners of the Florida Lottery to see if their new found wealth had actually brought them happiness. Unfortunately, a lot of the people made bad choices with their money and were very broke and very unhappy within a short time of winning the lottery. The state of Florida now advises winners to leave home for awhile and talk to an investment attorney or counselor before telling anyone about the winnings. Apparently, the key to money buying happiness is being prepared, learning to handle it and making good decisions about it not running your life.

Cotton,
I like that advice; I feel if I ever had a windfall, I would definitely consult a planner to help me in this because of course, I couldn't tell you how or what to do, so yes, that makes a lot of good sense.

It is indeed nice to receive a huge amount but as I have said in other posts, it is money and happiness are not directly proportional. Even the wealthiest person alive can experience sadness from time to time.

I don't think riches would make me totally happy, but I am sure that it would help the process though. I would be very pleased if someone gave me a large sum of money. Happiness can come in many forms. It all depends upon each individual of what they want out of life to be happy. I look for peace in my life and that doesn't cost any money. I think wealth can add to a persons happiness but it only brings happiness to those people who care about nothing but moeny.

In a way its true but it depends, money cannot buy everything. we need somebody to love us and care for us, somebody who will be a part of us. Its not possible to buy love with money and we need that for happiness. money cannot build our bridges in our heart to travel freely, its special people in our lifes that are more precious than gold or silver. Wealth can buy material things but cannot buy love.

I think you could be as rich as Bill Gates or a sheik, but if your inner person is not at peace, I'm sorry all the money in the world can't do nothing for you. I don't think happiness brings wealth, just a good feeling of satisfaction if you may.
