Little Itty is now Spayed

No longer will we have to hear the yowling, whining she did once a month. No longer will the guys have to worry about her running up to them and wrapping herself around their legs. She spent the night at the vets and now is spayed. In a few weeks she will be able to go outside with the other two cats. She loves being outside. Now we can let her out without worry. Remember to spay and neuter your cats.

That is one of the first things that we do as soon as our pets are old enough, they get fixed. I just hate to hear pet owners complain about the neighbors cat or dog bringing their babies to their home. I have been caught saying " well if you get your males fixed that wouldnt happen" Too many people think that only the females need to be fixed and that is not true

I agree with you. Even the males need to be fixed.

Every cat in this house is fixed. Any cat that passes thru this house is fixed. Heck, any cat I can lay my hands on crossing the YARD is fixed. I'm doing my part to end the pet over population, pity more people aren't out there being responsible like you (and me.)

Hi sweetie. I popped on for a little while to see what's going on. I'm glad your little Itty is fixed. She will be happier now, and you do not have to worry about kitties without homes in the street. How is the job situation? Message me. Huggers, M&M

I only have my one outside cat neutered. The rest are inside cats. I know I should get them fixed too because I was told that it is better for them for health reasons. That I never know if one might get out someday.

I too have to take my beloved Ozzie cat to the veterinarian. Once he is healed enough from his burns from our housefire the veterinarian will be ready to clip him. I hope he won't be mad at me. He is an awesome guy. Now that we are in the city I cannot let him out and he is so restless. I hope in a month following the 'procedure' he will be calm and loveable. I am glad your little lady is doing well. Wish me luck with my predator cat!

Hopefully he will be okay following the surgery. They often calm down a bit. Itty isn't really too energetic, but that is probably due to her recent surgery.

I have two cats and a dog. My dog and the big cat Andre (his pic is my avitar and he ways close to 18 pounds) are both neutered. I still need to get the little man neutered (he weighs in at 11 pounds and is deaf my daughter found him 6 months ago when he was a tiny abandoned ugly kitten now he is a gorgeous cat who would have thought?)which is what is happening in July. He is just now taking an interest in the outdoors. All our furry babies are indoor pets. Our dog Corkie is a miniature daucshound (sp) and he spends a great deal of time in the backyard rangling lizards and counting them lol. The two cats stay inside Andre has no desire to go out now that he has been fixed and we don't dare to let Ghost out because he is deaf. Both our kitties were strays that we took off the street and have loved them to health and into beautiful cats.

good, I'm glad you're going to have quieter nights. I always wondered why I could hear cats cry like that. They are in heat! what a horrible sound!

A female cat in heat is one of the most annoying things, isn't it? Glad you got her fixed. She'll be happier and so will you! We spay or neutar all of our cats. There's a couple tomcats hanging around I haven't been able to get a hold of yet to get them neutered. As soon as I do, they're off to the vets to be fixed!

I agree--- There are so many unwanted cats and kittens running around- All kinds of strays- that people just drop off- It's terrible- We got our cat Gracie at the Lollypop Farm (humane society) she was already spayed, had ll her shots, and was ready to go $75-- All of our cats prior to this we had to go get fixed and shots- I have never had a cat that I didn't get fixed- Like Bob Barker says-

You are likely writing this to the converted (those who already have their pets spayed and neutered) . However , you would be surprised at home many people do not ever plan to get their cat spayed or neutered. I have to be honest and say we have put it off a time or two because we didn't have the money for it right away. Now we know try to get the cat spayed or neutered right away. I hate it ,when a male cat goes unneutered because they often come home with cuts and such from fights. I know some people that have female cats and I am sure the cat has siblings all over the island . The poor cat has a litter every time that it is physically possible. It just doesn't seem right to let your cat have kittens when you can't afford to take care of them .

There are programs too that help with the cost too. There really isn't a good excuse not to get them fixed.

Itty is lucky she won't have to put up with all that every month. I spay or neuter all of my pets too. I only have one dog now, and I'm sure she would have had lots of pups if I hadn't gotten her spayed as soon as she was old enough. She has a boyfriend (a neighbor's dog) who comes to visit her every day. Sometimes when she manages to sneak out, the two of them are gone all day and night.

All my cats have always been desexed, male or female. It makes for a healthier & happier cat, and as you pint out, gives the owners more flexibility in letting their cat outside. Our cats love the outdoors too, particularly the older one. Whenever I am out the front gardening, she comes to join me, rubbing against me & purring.

Isn't it grand to have a cat spayed? I remember just before we got ours spayed not once a month, more like a couple of times a month she would start the yowling. She of course was little, and for some reason thought that I was interested in her lol. She would jump on the counter and turn around and display her behind.. the vet got a phone call that day..
