You ever notice you get advice from people with no children or people who have kids that are out of control. All you can think of is thanks but no thanks.and that is putting it kindly. Thats why parenting books were written.A little advice isn't bad ,but from a good source.

it is very odd to see a person giving advice when she or he has no kids. well my sister always say to me she is more of a good mom than i am while she has no kids yet. and my kids stays with her every once in a while only and just for a couple of hours. i really hate her when she said that.

If my sister were like your sister, I would say dreaming about being mother and being mother are different expessions.

I think we- mothers do not always trust in ourselves. We make mistakes. We can be better mothers if we realize our mistakes. Anyway I have the bad habit, that I notice not only my mistakes but other mother's mistakes. But I always try not to judge them. I only wag my head. :) I do not really remember if anybody gave me advice without request. (I must be a super mother :) and I prefer the advices of the psychologists, not the parenting books.

That is why if some on "gives" me advice that I did'nt ask for, I let it go in one ear and out the other. If I feel I need advice, I will ask for it.

When i got married and got pregnant my only source of information were books,t.v trivia, married friends and internet...well it helped a lot but experience is really the best teacher...imagine scanning the pages of the books to know how to make your baby stop from crying..whew! that's pretty tough isn't it...or calling your friends at the middle of the night to ask if they could go and see if is there something wrong with your baby...when you're a mother, sometimes you just have to be sensitive to learn things on your own way..
