Why can one disgruntled person sap your ratings?

I havnt been on here as much lately due to my job and recent excessive overtime ive been working, but i have noticed despite many best responses and good responses that my star "points" have dropped 5 or 6 points since last i was here. I stick mainly to positive discusions but now and then find one so ignorant i just cant resist throwin out a few facts. Ive made many friends here and ticked off at least one person pretty good. Im suspicious that this individual may have went through every disusion ive started and participated in marking negs regardless of my responses or statements. How is such childish behaviour fair? You cross one person by pointing out how assinine something they said was and they can retaliate in such a underhanded manner? I could care less realy what my star rating is cause its not like it effects anything i do on here its the point of it that doesnt sit right with me. Im sure countless others out there are getting shafted by some childish person who cant handle being proven wrong on a subject as well. Is this fair to us inteligent people?

I was wondering where you have been. If you'll noticed my star went from a 98 to 7. Not everyone likes me. They are - button happy. It is unfair.

Yea ive been workin 65 hour work weeks at all kinds of crazy hours. Needless to say most of my time at home is spent unconsious. Thankfully things are simmering down and im slowly getting back to somewhat of a normal schedule so you should be sein more of me again. Yea the button happy ones do kinda put a damper on things. I give everyone a + who responds generally. If they are rude or what ever i just dont mark anything, only 2 times have i givin out a - for completely ignorant or cruel responses in one of my discusions or one i have participated in.

You are back up to a '9' already so it must have been sorted out. There was a glitch in the system where a lot of members went down a lot of points. I made for some interesting discussions. It is frustrating that one petty person can have such an effect but it seems to be the case with most things in life that a small minority can affect things badly for the majority of law-abiding citizens. Good to see you back.

I agree and I will say it again, if people could see who was rated them negatively - that would decrease some of the bogus negative ratings. It's a shame some people can't handle an opposing view.....Don't let it get to you, there is nothing you can do about it and you don' want to waste valuable time either....good-luck.
