As someone who used to be shy I woulssayg reat because Id never do it :P, but it shouldnt matter who makes the move if it feels right go for it!

Yes! There's nothing wrong. I've been there in the situation. I told my friend I love him, he appeciated my honesty and we remained friends until now. If you love someone there is no point in seeing who makes the move first. If a girl loves someone, its her responsibility to convey her love to him rather than expecting him to understand your hidden love and then express his feeling to you. This could be foolish, as no one knows what oter feels in their heart. The one who loves first is one who should express it first, making first move.
