Adopting an animal is supposed to be a life long commitment. They depend on you just like a child, if not more, because they will never grow up and be able to care for themselves. Find a new place to live. If you have a roommate who also wants the joy of a puppy in his/her life then they should be willing to move with you. You have to make sacrafices to have an animal. An apartment is nothing more than a temporary place to stay and pet is a life long companion. I got my dog while I was living with roommates, and in apartments, if having her ever became an issue to my landlord or roommates then I just moved. My puppy-girl comes first.

I'm sorry if this sounds jerky, but if you knew the rules where you live, why did you take the puppy? It's very irresponsible. The pup may have found a good owner who's able to keep a dog 5 minutes after you took him. I'd bring him back to the person you got him from & apologize for wasting their time.

I know your heart was in the right place when you took the puppy in, but you should have brought it to a shelter rather than home with you. If the dog was abandoned, chances are that it might need shots and some medical attention. As much as you care about the puppy, no one should bring a dog home without making sure that it's medical condition is okay. This is as much for your safety as it is for the dog's.
I do think that it is really brave and kind of you to want to save this puppy, but the best thing you can do now is to either find another owner who can commit to keeping if for a long time, or bringing it to a shelter where they can hopefully find someone to adopt it. If you do find a new owner yourself, please instruct them to bring it to a vetrinarian or a shelter to have it's health checked on.

Look on the internet for an animal shelter or rescue organization. . maybe a no-kill shelter and give the dog to them. If they find it, it'll end up in a shelter anyway.
