Is it too late to start taking up a medical degree at 26?

I want to earn a medical degree. It's just that I feel that I'm too old for it? Or is it just in my mind? Is 26 really too old to start working on a medical degree?

No there's no too old for studying. when I was in college we had a speaker taking up medicine at the age of 40. why? because she really likes to have a medical degree then but got married had kids and it was the only time she got back to school. And to be honest I am a second courser taking up nursing at the age of 30 and I have classmates older than me. And I have classmate too who finished high school 17 years ago and it is only now that she's back to school at the age of 34.There is no too old or too late if you want to go to school its all in the mind and once your back to school you'll feel young again. So goodluck and enjoy every minute of it!

Thank you so much. It did lift my spirit to go on fighting and see to it that I make the right decision without being constrained by my our stereotypes on right timing.

If you are starting from scratch, (as in entering undergrad school as a freshman) thats eight or nine years of education before you'll have that degree and actually be able to work. Ask yourself: Do you have the time, money, and motivation to go through eight years of incredibly hard education? If that answer is yes, I salute you! I'm doing much the same thing, and I love every minute of it!

I support you, just give a opportunity to yourself,if you don't try,how do you know wherther you will be fail?Do't worry your age,i think it is not a problem that you are old or not,the most importance is that whether you are interesting in it.If you really want to get the medical degree,go to do it.

In this day and age, there is no age barrier to learning new things or getting a qualification to enhance one's career. All it takes is a willingness to let yourself be taught if your zest for learning is burning inside you. I have come across people who are in their 40's or 50's and going for their degree courses at a university, or taking a 2nd degree course. I would say go for it if you have the desire and passion to try for the medical degree. I know many people who would love to have a chance at a medical degree.

Interest, enthusiasm and seriousness towards the profession is most important than age. One can take up the course in degree at any age preferably before 40 and continue the profession as a physician or a specialist doctor.

there's never too late on learning, if you want to get a greater degree do it...its for your own good, besides who cares if your already 40 or 50 and still pursuing further studies...its your own money you're spending anyway :)
