I love to watch birds. It fascinates me to watch them glide across the sky. The different birds have beautiful colors and it reminds me that God is a excellent painter. It is getting the time of the year that I see a lot of birds. I can look out my window and watch them do their flight in the air. One day I cracked up laughing because one of the squirrels that run around our house was high tailing it away and there was a bird hot on it's trail. I never saw anything so funny in all my life. It made me wonder what the squirrel did to make the bird mad. But that is one of the things I love about this time of year is the opportunity to watch birds.

i love to watch birds, too. at the farm they are plentiful. at our home, there are some around as we have some big fruit trees in our yard. i have the experience of seeing those birds we call in the dialect as 'gitgit' treating rats, cats and dogs as you have described. i don't understand why they are attacking animals much bigger than these birds but it is a beautiful sight to see them doing that. these birds are small ones and they are basically in black and white combination colors.

I had to laugh when I saw the bird chasing the squirrel. I was fascinated as I watched it bombard the squirrel over and over again. These birds might be small but they sure are dynamite. I also love hummingbirds. The way they fly backwards and can fly staying in one place. The speed their wings go is unbelievable. To me birds are the most fascinating creatures. Thanks for your response--fellow bird watcher.

I'm not an avid birdwatcher, but where I live, there are so many different types to watch that I somtimes just sit for the longest time watching them.
the other day,I looked out my window when I first got up,and seen a mallard and hen ducks, sound asleep on the curb in front of the house,I must have watched them for 45 minutes before someone came along to wake them and they took off.
I also have a nest of sparrows that have made thier home over my front window for the last 8 years.

but by the way that you are talking now, you are a bird watcher. no one will have the patience to be watching for such long periods if he has no joy in it. i love it when i see these small birds make their nests at the trees which surround our home.

Yeah i also love to watch birds from my house. Mostly i see crows, sparrows, pigeons, parrots flying in the sky above and sitting on top of trees. Some of them build nests here and there nearby. And i also feed them leftovers. And one can hear them chirping away merrily eating what's fed to them.

well i wouldn't say i love bird watching to that extent but at time when i sit outside i just stare at them for like a couple of hours normally like an hour thereabout.
Like yesterday i saw a bird and a chicken figuring each other out, the bird was teasing the chicken flying close to it while the chicken would try and hit the bird with its beak.
It was a nice sight and i couldn't help from laughing

I'm not going to say I'm a bird watcher, I can barely name more than a double handful or so of birds, but I do find the mockingbirds annoying. Last year I had to put my outside cat's food under something because the dang bird kept dive bombing her. Its not like she was bothering the bird, she's nearly 14.

I enjoy watching the birds. I can really get a close up when they are at my feeders. The have all such distinctive calls. The other day there was one lone bird (cardinal I think) in a tree singing his heart out. I looked around to make sure no neighbor were in their yards as I didn't want them to think I was crazy when I started to copy the birds whistle. I was curious to see what he would do. Every time he chirped a I mimicked it and he keep coming closer and closer. I felt quite proud of myself then he dogs came out and scared him off.
