Associated Content problem - Topics for Publishing

I've been on Associated Content for a long while, and i've submitted two new articles i've written, but they've been declined by the editor. The first was Mylot, and it was rejected because it had similar content. The second was a game called Serious Sam: Next Encounter, but they said to pay for reviews on recently-released games. I'm at a standstill already. What kind of things are good to submit that have a chance of being published? I just want to know because I decided to try content writing for cash, yet had no luck.
