Why do you want kids? What makes you want to get pregnant?

Hi Lex- I've followed many of your responses on other conversations & before I say anything else, I want to say that I respect your wishes to not have children.
I became a parent, by choice, for the first time at age 16. I now have 3 children, 18, 14 & almost 5 and another on the way. I can remember as a little, little kid wishing to be a mother some day. I don't believe it was an influence by my family, as my family was made up of several divorced women who could have been the public representatives of the women's lib movement. My mother, my grandmother & my aunt were my primary care takers; all great women but not real maternal in any traditional sense.
Back to your question. Do you believe some people have "callings" in life- be it join the convent, to become a teacher, or whatever? I truly, always felt called to be a parent. And my experiences as a mother have confirmed for me that this is the right path for me in this life.
I do many things well, I have a full life & identity outside of being a parent; but being a parent is what I do best & what gives me the most joy.

well, I have two and one on the way...I always wanted kids, I wanted many of them. They make me happy, they are beautiful, talented, you get to see life for the first time all over again through their eyes. You see them grow and mature. To me, it is such a blessing to have them in my life. It is hard work, but to me it is completely worth it. I love being a mother and wouldnt trade it for anything. Pregnancy? Well, aside from the side effects...It is great the first time you feel the baby moving inside you, see them on an ultrasound, there is abond there way before they are born. You feel one with your child, It is crazy to me sometimes that there is a little person growing inside me....It is a great gift to me to be able to give life, and nurture it, and see them smile, and laugh, and grow. I think it is great! =)

I wanted to have a kid not only to reproduce ourselves, but because I was curious of the outcome of the two of us being together. What comes next? Will he looks like his mom or like his dad? Its also a curiosity of being pregnant, thats a feeling you cant compare with anything else, thats unique. Its nice to see our son grow up, see what he has accomplished already. Its a feeling of goodhearted being his mom. Its the proud feeling of letting him blowing out his first candles on his first cake ever. Its the feeling of giving a new life a change to develop. To let it be. To experience the joy, and the grieve, and the problems. Its never being alone for the rest of your life, there will always be someone that needs your attention.

But kids grow up and become independent adults. They won't always need you.

hey gloom, why is it that you hate kids so much?
can you share it with us?
its a rare thing for me to see someone who hates to have kids so much like you.what is the reason?
the only reason i can think of is that maybe you have been abused when you were a kid,or maybe youare not capable to have one,or maybe again you are gay and since gay doesnt have the ability to give birth,it is the reason why you hated to have kids.so whats the real score?

Quite frankly, your assumptions are asinine, ignorant and highly offensive
