turtles

ive always wanted a turtle but they are hard to find and expensive in britian, does anyone have a turtle as a pet? how hard or easy are they to keep? would you recomend i get one?

I used to have box turtles and and they were really easy to care for. They are long lived, don't need to have a swimming area, and eat crickets, mostly. They were about the size of my hand, and were very little trouble.
