Patience to Deal with Patients

Patience is very much connected with stillness, silence and quiet. What if patients don't have patience? If I'm sick in my bed, it is very easy to run out of patience and get angry and irritated. I don't realise at the moment that I am prolonging my illness and delaying the healing process. But is it only the patients who need to have patience? Or is it the one taking care who needs to have even more patience? The one standing at the foot of the bed, looking at the patient, perhaps, needs to have limitless patience. But patience is something that is unfashionable today. We have to deal with all kinds of people mentally, emotionally and physically. How to cope with patience in a world that demands fast speed and achievement?

No one yells at the patient who looses patience. It is natural for the patient to get angry and irritated, due to physical pains. Serving patient with patience is the social deed that brings ment. Florance nightingale is in my mind at this moment and all the nurses who serve the patients with a smiling face.

Patience is something that we learn over a period of time and the people that we are around . I find the older I get the less patience I have and believe that younger people tend to have more patience then older people . I am not sure why this is but have noticed that things that wouldn't have botered me before , will bother me now . I beleive that anyone who is taking care of someone who is not feeling good is going to have to have a lot of patience because it is hard when you are not feeling good to be patient about the fact that you sick and unable to do things on your own not to mention that fact that you feel miserable .

Our ageing process has taken a toll on our patience. Patience is a great virtue and its fruit is always sweet. One should not give up patience under any provocation.

Let me tell you as a patient who was stuck in a hospital bed for 2 years...it is INCREDIBLY hard to have patience as a patient. You just weant to get well, get the h ell out of the hostpital and get back to your life. Patience is the LAST thing on your mind. It is EXTREMELY important for caregivers to have patience with patients. They need to understand that the person they are caring for is ill and needs their help...and it is not always going ot be easy.

self-prossession is indispensable to the process everyone has a burning desire for succeeding by a shortcut. once the goal is set,we'll arrange the work around the goal.

You must become the island in the storm. You can affect only you and so the work begins and then in time it begins to shine where others can see. Some will react negatively and others will be drawn to you. Let the world go on around you and participate in that which you wish to or are assigned to. Enjoy what you can and do what you are able. A constant thing to nurture in yourself. Good luck.

dealing with patients needs lot of patience..... a patient might not be in the best of his mental temperaments because of the sufferings due to the disease. Thus he might quickly lose his/her temper. This might annoy other persons like relatives/caretakers but the need of the hour in such cases is the patience of the others. It will not only make the patient feel better, it is said to have a positive effect on the healing process as well.

Patience is a scary word. LOL We all need much more. Of course, the patient needs patience to be still and let their body heal but the care giver needs even more patience to put up with the patient that has no patience. LOL This world has become a fast moving world and patience is at the bottom of the totem pole, so to speak.

When someone is sick, they need all the support and comfort they can get to go through the healing process. Of course, when they are such in pain, they will be angry or even very irritated because they dont know what is actually happening to their body or questioning why they are suffering. I think if we are the one who take care of the patient, we should be compassionate, understanding and most a lot of patience. Sometimes because of exhaustion or tiredness, we tend to loose our patient easily. If we loose our patience at the patient, I think it will do more harm to the patient than you. So, the best is to get someone else to do the caring.
