the rainy season starts here in the philippines but it's still very humid and hot. Rain usually falls in the afternoon and we have started patching up our roofs and fixed our umbrellas and made sure at least one is in the car. How bout you, what have you done to prepare for the rainy season?

It has indeed, we were caught unprepared because of this our terrace in the second floor got flooded and went inside the house. Out gutter was clogged because there were plenty of dried leaves and dust we were never expecting the rains that poured several nights ago was that strong. We just got surprised that water suddenly came in out from the terrace and went all down the stairs.

yes us too, but we were kinda prepared, when the skies turned dark we started patching up the roof, but unfortunately some water still seeped into the ceiling. and we had to do some repatching but the good thing is since we were able to patch some up we only had some leak on the roof and not as bad as ut would have been.

Yeah... you bet... just like yours we just started to change our roofs... but still there are hard to locate holes... But whatever rainy reason brings us... for me its a great season to be enjoyed... considering that my work place is just near to our home thats why going to and from work is not hard for me during this times... eventhough sometimes its a big mess to my uniforms, thanks God we just made a difference...

I live in the Philippines for 2 years, and I remember the rainy season very well. One year it rained 100 inches just during the month of August. I thought it would never quit raining. I now live where it only rains about 16 inches in an entire year. It gets really hot here, and I don't remember it getting very hot in the Philippines. It was always very lush and green in the Philippines, I really enjoyed it there. It is so hot here that every thing turns pretty dry and brown by July.

In Philippines, during rainy season we make it appoint that we have stocks of canned goods, candles, enough gas for the kerosine lamp, flashlight, battery, matches or lighter and umbrella. Aside from that we check our rooftop for possible leaks and fix it. We make these things a habit whenever rainy season is about to come because we know that during this season, storms visit us thus brownouts / blackouts always happen, so we must always get ready.
