300 dollars is equal to about 2000 rand here. thats more than the average salary of 1200 rand that most of sa earns. my hubby is a workshop manager and in sa its still a mans world. a man would earn much more for a job than i will ever earn. there is 80 percent unemployment here so i am quite lucky to have a job.

What I find strange is the huge gap between your incomes its $1700 and you both work full time.

My personal monthly income is about 100-150 dollars a month, from what I make online. I am a stay at home mom, and am using the money to help pay off debt, and for extras. My husband works, but it's commision, and he just started his commission last week, so we'll have to wait and see what he will be making.

I'm a little above that, but I see an increase so it's heading in the right direction. Keep it up!

My current monthly income includes social security disability ($378); social security retirement payments that my son receives from his father ($737); child support also paid by my son's father ($330). In addition, I have been working as a virtual call center agent for the past month. The last two checks (which covered 3-1/2 weeks) were $61 and $151. That would bring my personal monthly income to roughly $1,657. I know that it will increase because I have applied with several other companies that hire individuals to work from home. My husband also works, and his income runs between $480 to $600 per week, so his monthly total would be around $1,920.
It's interesting, because I have to be honest and say that we are not very good at managing our income and frequently, it doesn't appear to me that there is this much income coming into the house. It's a real reality check. I'm going to save this and discuss it with my husband. We need to get serious about tracking our payments and where our monies are going. We just recently bought a house (with a very large mortgage) and we are still paying on our vehicle. I feel ashamed because I have the most recent copy of both Microsoft Money and Quicken on my computer and have been, being truthful here, too lazy to set it up.
I'm glad that I saw this question and I believe that it will be useful in getting quite a few other people to take a long, serious look at the way they're handling their finances.

I changed my views on money after reading "Rich Dad, poor Dad" from Mr Kyosaki. You might wanna read that, it explains why even with a high income most people still struggle to make ends meet or at least to have some extra.
