Make my laptop faster

There are as many ways to make machines faster without any difference between laptop/ desktop. By hardware, you will have to spend. But certain operating system configuration, you can make it work fast. Partial list is:- a. remove unnecessary startup programs b. stop windows find fast, office startup services also, c. run scandisk, defragment at regular frequencies d. use good anti-virus, spy-ware, update regularly e. disk-cleanup regulary, remove cookies, temporary internet files, browsing history etc., f. make sure system tray has least necessary items There are many more. but these i use regulary.

If you are using Internet Explorer consider switching your browser to Mozilla Firefox or Opera. Both you can download for free from the Internet and both make your machine a lot faster. If you have dial up think about switching to broadband, it is worth it, it is a lot faster. This all does not make your computer faster but it reduces the time spent on the internet.

Without spending money you need software downgrade or upgrade, PC preventative maintenance procedures, and ultimately to at least reformat at least twice a year. The more programs your computer has, the slower it gets. New software requires more resources, so if you don't need the current features of new software stick to previous versions. Upgrading or transferring to better and fast programs can also work. Regularly maintain your computer by disk scanning, defragmenting, and optimizing, especially your registry. Well, to make sure all are fresh, reformat your drive which will get rid of the Windows Rot, if you are a Windows user.
