myLot is excited to bring you another great contest. Last month, we tested your creativity with the myLot video promotion contest, which was very well accepted. For the month of June myLot users will be able to display their creativity and graphic design talent by designing banners to promote myLot. All you have to do is make a banner based on the sizes myLot has defined below. Once you have created your banner you must upload it to the myLot Banner Contest interest located under “hobbies I enjoy”. Before you can upload your banner you must first add the myLot Banner Contest to your interests. To do this, click on the “i enjoy myLot Banner Contest” button. Once you add this interest, you will see an “upload photo” link where you can upload your banner. Please do not place your banner in a discussion as it will not be included in the contest.Banners can be animated, but don’t have to be, and should be able to attract visitors to myLot. If we decide to use your banner in our upcoming promote myLot tools section, we will pay you a bonus with your myLot regular earnings of $1.00 per banner selected. myLot will pay for up to 100 banners in each size category.You are free to use myLot/'s logo in the banner, but the rest of the design must be your own work. There are an unlimited number of themes for these banners, such as promoting myLot’s interests, discussions, blogs, news, friends, etc... You can do whatever you want! The main requirement is that the banners be exactly one of the sizes listed below:•125x125 (Square Button)•120x60 (Button)•468x60 (Full Banner)•120x 600 (Skyscraper)•160x600 (Wide Skyscraper)•728x90 (Leaderboard)•250x250 (Large Square Button)Acceptable file formats are .gif, .jpg, and .png, and the banner must be in English. The contest is open to any myLot member that would like to participate, and it will run for the entire month of June. Has anyone actually read the rules and regulations? It states that the Contest winner earns a whole $1.00 (one dollar). Isn't that a bit cheap for myLot to receive a free graphic design banner. Unless, I'm missing the fine print somewhere. Interesting way to get cheap help I suppose.

Yeah, you get a dollar for each banner that's accepted. Plus there can and will be multiple winners this time. So if you do thirty banners that get accepted, you get 30 bucks. Seems like a good deal to me.

I may just try it. It says it will pay up to 100 banners. I would like to have a hand at it to see what I come up with. But, I won't push it. If I don't want to do it, I won't.

Yeah, but if you really read it, the total payout will be up to $700. ($1 x 100 banners per size x 7 sizes) If they decided to pay more than $1 per, that number would grow exponentially, and they wouldn't be able to afford it. Though honestly, I think 10 per size at $10 per banner would have been a better choice, and still spend the same amount.

Hi, Well I already have a couple of ideas hehehe. But do we upload them like we would pics?? And would it show animation? Thanks Oh I promise not to make a banner asking mylot to marry me again. lol. I did have fun with the videos though. Thanks for the contests :)

This contest sounds very interesting and am sure many members will try this one out since I am sure there are very many creative minds on here. It is probably easier to make a banner than a video. This is great that myLot is doing these contests as it could attract more members as well and lets the current members show their creative minds. I wonder what kind of contest will be next.

An interesting concept definately, but at the same time if you read the rules and regulations plus to to the banner contest page, you will see that it is not a lot of money. I would like to think that mylot could have rewarded people a lot better than that. Designing and submitting a banner takes time, and it seems to me that the time could be better spent posting.
Okay, it might be for the good of members but the main one to benefit is mylot. That might bring in more members but what about the money. Does it actually bring in any more money to the members who are posting here?
The reason members are leaving mylot is because of the posts being deleted, and the ratings being dropped. That affects their earnings.
Good luck to all who enter but I think I will stick with posting. That will make me more money than designing a banner.

Hi everyone out there. This is really a wonderful thing for the people who wants to do something creatively. From this, they can give wings to their imagination. Through that, they can fly into the new horizon. They can show their imagination independently without any one in the middle. Really, there are people out there who have lots of talent in them. But there is no way to show. These type of contests let them show their talents to the world. More over showing their talents, they can earn a good pocket money. Come on guys out there, show off your talent to the world.

This sounds like a fun contest. I'm glad I joined this site - many people have recommended it to me, but I was never sure what to think.
Good luck to all of you who submit entries - I'm not too good with computer designs, so I won't be entering. I'm not disappointed, though - it'll be interesting to see what all you guys can come up with!
