Can Someone Help Me Please?

I just noticed the new alert from MyLot about the contest to make a banner for MyLot. My question is exactly how do you go about making a banner? There is still so much about the computer that I don't know how to do but I am very eager to learn. I probably won't win the contest, but I would at least like to give it a shot. Can someone tell me how to make a banner so I can try and then I'll have the instructions for future reference? I would certainly appreciate any help I can get. First of all I won't be entering. You can see why in the discussion I started.
First of all you will need photo editing software like Adobe or Jasc Animation Shop. I use Jasc Animation Shop.
You can make a banner using Gimp, which is a 'free' program that you can download.
Here is a tutorial on how to make a banner with Gimp.

I went to yahoo search engine and looked for "make a banner" i found a software program i can use for 15 days. After that Ill find another to way them. There are tutorials to look up too. I already made a quick one just to see how it works have a look.

SheliaLee, I wish I could help you. I know there is sites you can go to make the banners but I forgot what they were. So I 'm not much help. I'll follow you discussion and learn too maybe. Have a great weekend.

You need to have Adobe photoshop to create really good creative banners, downloading freeware or shareware is not a good option as in final product i.e banner it will be written " sample" or sometimes while saving it will say that you can't save. so be particular before wasting time with free software.
You can create quality of banners with photoshop, look if some of your friends have photoshop on his computer.
