Why did you decide to open your own home business?

Everyone makes the decision for different reasons. Some don't like to commute, and others just want the extra money. For me, it was my decision to be a stay at home mom that made me decide that working online was for me. How about you?

I am already a small businness owner. I do bookkeeping and business consulting. I enjoy the work but it is very limiting. There are times that I feel my clients "run my life" in a way. If they decide I do not work a day, my income is affected. I am also getting married after the 1st of the year and I really want to spend more time with my husband than in someone else's office. I am also wanting to spend more time doing counseling and helping people than working in the daily grind. Additionally, I believe that I can make much more working for myself than for someone else.

I didn't. Not yet, anyway. Yours sounds like a good reason. Mine would be, so far, to have no boss, and more time for me. At present I work far from home, and I travel 1 hour in the morning and 1 in the evenings, plus 9hours at work... sometimes it's just too much for me.
