Would you help POOR or NEEDY?

This question arised in my mind since I had two options either to give that begger some money or distribute my little pocket money among poor. Since, I went with my father in the old village type place, I thought I help those too, like my father.
I gave the money to the poor, cuz I thought that poor or needy, needy can get his needs though the poor can not.
What would have you done, if you were in my place? Or in an instance, let's suppose you come across such a moment, then what would have you preffered or why?

i would have definitely helped the poor. but some times it depends. a some boy always used to come to us when i used to chat with my friends near the beach. he would always ask us for some money we never used to give him as that money would be taken away by his parents and used in black business.

Ok the other day me and my husband were driving and there was this man with a sign and he had his toes amputated and he had braces on his legs so you could tell that he was having a hard time, so with that situation yes my husband gave him money but not the ones that we see all the time and they can get a job.

My father also gives money when there is some real help needed or a real poor person. So, there's a thing common between your husband and my father. :)

Yes provided if i have the money or the time to help them out yea ... it is because helping people makes me very happy i tend to smile at them after helping them yea

Actually its hard to make a line between the poor and the needy as it seems to be same but i can make out what you really wants to say. Here there are lots of beggers and i really don't like the way they beg, as some of them are really well build but still keeps on begging. But those poor that you are talking about is meaningful. I'll not go giving out my money to the beggers rather be out for the poor and the needy. But it depends also on the begger situation.
