As what the topic starter said. It really needs enough knowledge in order to troubleshoot your assembled PC.

I always prefer branded one. They are very much tested for integrity of software/ hardware by the manufacture. They come with upto 3 years onsite support. They also come with genuine softwares, anti-virus softwares pre-loaded with 1 year licence upfront.
Assume, you purchased different parts from different vendors. So, one problem, you will have to keep rotate. If CD-ROM not working, you call CD-ROM Vendor, he will say CD-ROM proper only, check SMPS with your Cabinet Vendor. So, the problem will keep rotating, and you loose productivity for all these. The cost which you save initially, get completely lost without any productivity.
In my 10 years experience in IT field, I have seen enough people suffering because of assembled PC's and finally shifting to branded ones, and getting branded support as well and one source support.

For a dream PC, it must be assembled. PC sellers always include low-quality components. When you assemble your PC and if your money permits it then you can find all latest and fastest components you can dream of. Be sure to read the latest product reviews for each component your PC needs.

I agree with you. when you are thinking of your dream pc, then you must be thinking of latest hardware in it. which is only possible in assembled one.

i like branded computers. they are much more reliable and trust worthy.they provide security and as it is branded there is no way for fake or pirated software and hardware, thus leading to anti-piracy.
therefore if you ever try to buy a computer then go for branded if it doesn't fit your bill then try to build your assembled computer on the bases of genuine hardware and software.

I preferred an assembled one since my partner is really very particular with the hardware specifications. And aside from that, I could buy the pieces one-by-one in order not to be too heavy in the pocket.
And of course, we need to get the latest available hardware near in my location in able to boost the rigs. And yes, I loved it though it's costly sometimes.

i hav an assembled rig, and i had saved a lot. as i am a student of animation and i need a high end pc which i m not able to get from branded one's. then i opt for assembled one and i get more than i need in affordable price, and its running smoother hassle free and i hadn't face any problem til now.

IF you have profound knowledge in computer hardware (Latest hits their pros & corns) then definitely an assembled PC is a better choice
But a branded PC always optimizes the system performance in all terms even in Air flow through cabinet
I always prefer an Assembled one
