My pup of 4 months is losing hair, not rapidly, but enough to be found everywhere. n my mom is getting very impatient, cause now its on all our kitchen items.I wanted to know if this was natural or is it that bcos of the heat(its really unbearable in Mumbai now during the day).

Dogs lose their winter fur coats through shedding. I have two German shepherds, whom happen to have undercoat fur funder their regular top fur. Every Spring, they begin shedding all over the house and outside. Dogs shed their fur in the spring and summer because they no longer need the extra fur to keep warm. This is what I have to do: I tie them outside and work on one dog at a time, once a week doing this: I have a pet hair "shed blade" that gets most of the under coat. After I've gooton all I can get off at that session, I then use a large rubber tipped hair brush to get the rest of it. You should see the amount of undercoat that is removed! I leave it outside for the biords, because the birds come and get it to line their bird nests with. I do this once a week. I have to tie my dogs for this because they don't like to be groomed or brushed. Doin this also keeps them cooler during the hot summer months. A fur shed blade is looped with tiny teeth, in which you brush "down" on the dog's gur to remove the fur that's no longer necessary and you remove it. Then, follow up with a good brushing. All done OUTSIDE! iluvsoho

Thanks for such a helpful response. But how does the pet hair shed blade look, n where can I get one of those?

It is very natural and as summer progresses it will be more common. Dogs need to stay cool too and they do so by shedding their fur. Keep your vacuum cleaner handy, it will be used frequently. I find winter can cause just as much shedding too (but I have two large dogs so that could be why). Make sure your pup has plenty of water and if you can keep air circulating that will also help.

Most dogs shed in the hot weather. And it helps if you brush the dog frequently to keep the hair from going all over the house. I have a cat and she leaves hair on the places she lays. It is hard to keep it picked up when she sheds a lot. You might try using tape to pick the hair off of fabric/furniture. I use masking tape - pat a strip of tape on the upholstry then lift it off and the hair comes with it.
