Has Anyone Ever Read Your Mind?

Tonight I went to see Derren Brown. For those who've never heard of him he's an illusionist/mind reader/hypnotist etc - a bit like a less creepy David Blaine in some respects. Anyway it was amazing stuff - a lot of the show was mind reading and it was very spooky. Basically he stood there blindfolded and called out audience members names and ages and then proceeded to tell them their star sign, the day of the week they were born on and other bits of personal information - some past and some present. I'm usually sceptical about that sort of thing but as I was one of the people he called on now I'm a little freaked out by it! I know it's all trickery but I have no idea how he does it - I mean the only thing people were allowed to answer was yes or no so it's not like he had any "clues" to go on and he was very, very specific.
So has anyone else seen his live show and what did you think? Or as there are a lot of Americans on myLot has anyone seen David Blaine in the flesh and witnessed some of his tricks? I would love to see him - I've seen him on tv obviously and some of the stuff he does is spectacular although I'm not keen on all his endurance stunts. I prefer his "magic" tricks. Or even better of course - does anyone know how they do it?

WOW, that must have been quite freaky to witness. I have only seen Derren Brown on TV and when he got those people to do that heist it was amazing to watch.
I have not seen David Blaine on the TV for ages, but I remember watching a programme that showed how he would pretend to levitate to people in the street. You have to stand at an angle and go up on tiptoe with one foot while raising the other foot off the floor.
My partner tried it and it really looked like he was levitating. They revealed that they film him in a studio being lifted up and then it is superimposed onto the background so it looks like he is really levitating to people in the street.
I would love to see Derren Brown live. Where is he playing.

I think the nearest one to you will be Woking on 11 June. Strangely he isn't doing any London shows on this tour. Oh I'm so disappointed with the levitation thing! See that's the problem isn't it - we all want to know how these things are done but then when we find out it's not the same lol.

I wonder how they do it too...I have seen David Blaine and Chris Angel..but never Derren Brown..really spooky though..if it is a "trick"..I would like for it to be exposed soon..:)

hello there. :) let me share my experience with you about having my mind read. this is no spam because the one who read my mind was one of my friends. he was really amazing because just by looking at me, he knew what i was thinking, he knew what i was bothering about and he knew that he was on my mind. lolz. it was really kinda embarassing because i had a crush on him and then it was really really really embarassing for him to read my mind. lolz. :P
