What's your favorite season and why?

First off, how many seasons are there where you live and then which is your favorite and why? I live in the Mid-Atlantic Region of the USA and my favorite season is Spring. I like putting away the heavy coats and sweaters but still having cool mornings and evenings with comfortable days before the heat and humidity set in (which has of course already happened here this year!). How about you?

I guess I like Spring the best, too. I live in Indiana. We get the four seasons. We lived in Tampa, Florida for two years. I always tell everyone I don't like winter, but I "need" it. Do you know what I mean? It's just not normal to have 80 degree weather on Christmas. I guess my biological makeup needs the four seasons! I kinda missed the cold ugly days when we lived in Sunny Florida! LOL

I understand. I had a chance years ago to move to Tuscon, AZ and I could not picture life without grass, trees, 4 seasons. My mother lives in Florida and keeps trying to get me to move there. Though the Mid-Atlantic has much milder winters than New England I still get enough of winter and enjoy living all 4 seasons.

We have 4 seasons here, but spring is my favorite! Not too hot and not too cold! The only downfall is I live in Kansas and there are alot of storms that tend to carry tornadoes with them.

I've never visited Kansas but I understand it's a hot spot for tornadoes. Are they most active in spring?

They are mainly active in spring, but tend to come in summer too. We are dealing with flooding right now too...it just never ends here! lol

Thanks for sharing and for me learning something new. I did think tornadoes as summertime - thinking the heat played a factor. Spring surprised me. You are getting all the rain Florida has been waiting two months for! Last year flooding was very bad in your area, is this year the same? I hope not.

I live in Manila, Philippines and we only have to seasons: Dry and Rainy seasons. I love the dry season and that would be around November to May and the rest would be the rainy season. It is during rainy season that typhoons visit our country and we're talking of around 20 typhoons. Not all of them are very strong, just rain and gusty wind but others would be called super typhoon moving in at 240 kph wreaking havoc everywhere! Now, you know why I love the dry season where we could go to the beach and just relax.

Thank you very much for explaining your seasons. I agree, I would choose the dry season there as well.

My favourite season is probably Autumn, as it's not too cold, yet it's not too hot. Spring nowadays is the new Summer, so we're getting swelterig heat in England at the moment.

india is a land of many seasons...it inculdes summer, winter, monsoon, spring and autumn..... because of being a tropical country summer in india is just pathetic and unbearble..its maximum amount of humidity that prevails during summer time...summer in indis is accompanied with local hot and cold winds...for ex.-loo in up..execesive heat and deficiency of rainfal causes drought in many areas. winter is severly experienced in north india..which is accompanied with snow falls.winter rains r also common in few areas. spring and autumn is pleasant moderate climete.. monsoon is one the remarkable features of indian climate accompanied by light and heavy showers..it often results in flood... however despite the above mentioned climatic conditions there r some pecularites.. mausin gram(a village at cherapunji in mehgalaya)experiences heaviest ranfal.. kashmir alweys reamins snow fed.. rajasthan has the hottest climate in india chennai, mumbai, and kolkata experiences moderate climate becoz of bieng near to the sea.. here lies the pecularites of indian climate.. personaly i prefer winter becoz its soothing and plesant as well as comfortable......

I live in Singapore, a South East Asian country that is situated far too close to the Equator. Because of our unique positioning, there is only one season all year long (that is of course excluding the monsoon seasons) and that is Summer. It's Unbearable. Seriously. Though I can't experience Spring, Autumn or Winter in my country, I have had the luxury (yes, it is a luxury to me) of experiencing these seasons through my visits to foreign countries and I have to say that Autumn is hands down my favourite season. This is because the whole place is bathed in red, everything seems to go at a calmer pace and there is just this sense of tranquility that cannot be provided by the other seasons...

Thank you so much for sharing this. I had no idea you only have 2 seasons there, summer and monsoons! Autumn is tranquility to Spring's rebirth, for sure. I see your why in that easily. That's a really nice way of looking at it.

My favorite season is winters as I love wearing woolens and eat a lot, in winters appetite increases and you enjoy shopping etc.

When I was younger it was my favorite season too and it was because I could wear all the beautiful sweaters my mother made me and the ones I was able to buy too. I get that. And yes, those hot meals of soup, stew, casseroles, lasagne really do taste better in winter.

I live in Sardinia, an Italy island. There are four seasons: autumn, winter, spring and summer, but the temperature in the winter is very mild. My favourite season is Summer. I like going to the beach and to stay there to see the sunset!!

I can understand that! I no longer live near the ocean and loved taking walks on the beach when I did. With my fair skin and easily sunburning I preferred going any time of year but summer. It sounds you get to enjoy very nice, relaxing summers there!

I live in Indiana and we have four seasons, spring, summer, fall, and winter. My favorites are Spring and fall. I like spring because of all the flowers comming up and we have such pretty days and you know summer is comming. I like Fall because of all the leaves changing and you still are having beautiful day. I know I am weird but I hate the cold weather, but some days I love to sit in my house and watch the beautiful snowflakes coming down as long as I don't have to get outside in the stuff. LOL

There are four seasons here. I live in upstate South Carolina. My favorite season is fall, because it's not as humid, and because I'm close to the mountains we see some really great leaf changes. I also like wearing long sleeves without heavy coats or light jackets that are too hot in the summer. Plus once the plants start dying, my allergies get better. Too bad about the ragweed though...

I like autumn too but my allergies are worse then. Early spring I find preferable, just before things start growing and blooming - long sleeves then too.
