Seriously, if Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert ran in 2008, would you...

Of course I would. You know why? Because after years of watching them on The Daily Show and, more recently, The Colbert Report, I see that they are intelligent. They are rational, educated people that make rational, educated decisions. To be honest, their politics would matter very little to me. Knowing how they think and the sense of responsibility they have, I believe they would do a great job.
Of course, they probably don't think they could run the country or even get elected --they probably won't run.:)

I would. Because there's no way in hell they could be worse for the country, and the world, than dubya. America needs a major change in their government leaders.

No, I wouldn't vote for either one of them. They're hosts of fake news shows for crying out loud. What do they know about running anything? They'd have everything screwed up worse than Dubya. They'd probably be funny as heck but we need someone better than either one of them to run this country.

I probably wouldn't vote for them if there was another good candidate, but if it was between one of them and another Dubya-styled republican (not all republicans, just ones who follow Bush's policies), I'd vote for them with out a second thought. I do wish they had a larger spot in the media- despite being an obviously liberal fake news show, they often give the same useful information that the real news does, minus the cat in the tree stories and the "Oh my Gosh, I don't know what to think. I'm just going to talk and talk and talk until there is actual news to report." They also ask their guests real questions (okay, there are some funny ones, too), and don't let them tip-toe around the real answers.

I would definatley vote for them. Even though they present the news in a comical fashion, I beleive that they understand that the issues they present are important. From the content they present I am of the opinion that they are more Libertarian than anything else.
The fact that they can find humor in the stories they present only goes to show that they are as bewildered by the actions of politicians as the rest of us. It appears that they posses a common sense which seems to be lacking in Washington these days.

You know, I don't always agree with them politically, but they are definitely colorful characters that I think people can really go for. I just thought about that movie, "Man of the Year" where a really honest, and funny, character ran for president--and won. But, in his case, the election was flawed. But, I think these two can appeal to a lot of people who are tired of the same-old-same-old stuff.

I know it's crazy to think about, but I think they would win by a landslide.
I wouldn't vote for them.
Number 1 - They have no political experience.
Number 2 - Washington, D.C. is a tough political place!
They would probably be stuck with a lot of disgruntled senators and congressmen.
In all honesty, I think we need a youth rule in congress. Once you turn 70, you have to retire.

I do like to watch their shows, but I don't know if they would make good politicians or not.

I don't think either of them would take the cut in pay, just to be fodder for their replacements on their TV shows.

I'm not sure if I would vote for them, but it would be hilarious if they won. It depends on what you want. Do you want to laugh every time they give a speech? Or do you want someone to make serious decisions?
I don't know, but I think that the main thing that makes them funny (like making fun of those in charge) would probably diminish once they become one of those in charge. Not that they would stop telling jokes or anything, but that they would have to make fun of something else.

I would definatley vote for them. I am of the opinion that these guys tend to lean on the Libertarian side of the aisle than anything else. I could be wrong, but I have seen them go after all politicians no matter what party they belong to.
I think that the fact that they can present these very serious topics with humor, only goes to show that they are as bewildered by the actions of the politicains as much as we are. This shows a kind of common sense which is sadly lacking in Washington D.C.
Plus, imagine how much funnier the State of the Union addresses would be ; )
