This post really needs to be revived now that we are in the Middle of the World Cup.
I think the cup is New Zealand's to lose. Seriously, they are the best team in the world but somehow, they've always been the best team in the world but never managed to win the world cup. Hopefully this time they'll bring the cup home.
South Africa have been showing good form, they wacked England in the group rounds - England beat them last time in the group stages and went onto win and so who's to say it can't be different this time.
As for Australia, it's hard to write them off. They were not expected to make the final last year but they did, though they did have home ground advantage.
The French will be interesting outsiders to watch. Didn't do well by losing the opener to Argentinia but the French have always been full of surprises.

I want All Blacks to win hard out, but in the past few international tests- New Zealand has been winning, only lost to them once last year. Hopefully if New Zealand keeps its up, we will definitely be a strong contender for the world cup, next to us will be the wallabs. England = nah :P. Richie McCaw doing a good job as captain this year but we gotta work on our defence a little. I'll definitely be glued to the tv when the world cup starts up- and it plays at around 1 am in the morning. I'm a pretty big fan of Rugby here - hehe and I love the All Black

I think the All Blacks and South Africa are the teams to watch for this world cup, they have been the two most on-form teams so far.
I really hope the All Blacks haven't peaked too soon, I'd (of course) really love to see the rugby world cup back in New Zealand!
I don't like to pick a team to win a sporting event, I guess I'm a little superstitious in that way. I'm afraid we might lose if I say "THE ALL BLACKS WILL WIN FOR SURE!"

Hi! England are definately not a contender for the world cup... they were thrashed by south africa two weeks in a row. Australia did not perform too well in the Vodacom Super 14 and so I doubt that they will get very far in the world cup... i bet my money on a south africa and all black final... south africa are showing great improvement and with having two teams in the final of the Vodacom Super 14 they are definately a strong contender for the world cup.
