What are some of the things you enjoy doing ? Do you like to scrapbook , collect stamps or read ? When did you develop these hobbies and who was it that got you started in the first place ? Do you find your hobbies expensive and how often do you get to sit down and do what you want to do ?

i play video games and read a LOT lol! but i also do woodburning (pyrography) and glass etching.
i was given a little woodburning kit when i was a kid and have always loved it..dont get to do it often anymore since its kind of an all day thing and i dont have very many free days anymore!
the glass etching ive just gotten into in the last 2 years or so. its really neat, kind of expensive though. i havent been able to do that for a while..i etched all the glass i have in the house that is appropriate and dont want to spend the high prices the etching supplier charges. and anytime im at a store that just MIGHT have blank glass products..i never seem to remember to look until after ive gotten home! lol!
i used to do a fair amount of cross-stitch. but it got really hard on my hands..i would have to stop after an hour or so..and you cant get a whole lot done in an hour for that. so i know i have a couple of unfinished ones in the closet somewhere!

Bigger, never-ending, in my blood hobbies:
-genealogy. I've been researching my family history since I was 15. It's all consuming. But in the last few years my yearning has slowed a bit as other things consume my life
-reading. Are there really ever enough books?????
-baking. There's something very satisfying about creating something yummy!
-music. A great hobby because you can listen as you do other hobbies. There is so much wonderful music out there to explore!
other frequent hobbies:
-photography
-decorating
-knitting
-shopping

I enjoy reading in my spare time sometimes and my mom is the one who got me started on that. I also like to do different crafts, depending on what I have on hand and what I have seen and try to recreate myself. One of my aunts got me started doing craft projects. I also enjoy gardening, this year I don't have a place to put in a garden so I just have some tomatoes in containers. I also enjoy all types of houseplants, and this year I started one of those container herb gardens. My sister is the one who got me into gardening. I don't spend a lot of money on any of my hobbies, I am a big frequenter of resale stores and garage sales and that is where I pick up most of my books, craft supplies, and plant starts.

My newest hobby is bird watching as I just got a birdfeeder today to go along with my birdbath outside. I am looking forward to seeing all the different types of birds. My other big hobby was bowling but am not able to do that right now because of my herniated disc and carpal tunnel. I also enjoy doing artwork and watching movies and going for walks. I watch movies a lot and do my artwork from time to time.

I have collected coins,stamps,militaria,this one I still do,I learned to cook,knit,sew.
A number of these I found very handy in the army, but have slowed down a great deal,I am now collecting dolls and plastic pants, these I get started on by my sister.
I am now semi-retired but still have my store at the flea market that takes up most of my time, and allows me to purchase more things.
Have a great day.
Blessed Be.

I love to read and I hoard or collect books. I started to be like this way back in high school. I just can't let the day pass without reading books. I spend a lot of money buying books. I am from the Philippines and I even buy books from the U.S and UK in bulk.

I guess my main hobby would be what I am doing right now. Playing on the Internet has always been a hobby of mine and I enjoy the world of Mylot quite a bit. I do also like to go to garage sales when I can and turn around and make a profit on ebay :)
cheers

When I learned to read in first grade I acquired a love for it, reading opened my imagination and gave me many new ideas, many new words to learn and grew my vocabulary much more quickly than the classroom could. At the time we spoke my parents native language at home and it really helped to grasp the English language so much more quickly! My mother also taught me to knit as a child and though I am not ever going to be as talented as her I enjoy the items I do create and passing the time sitting in front of the tv or riding the train doing it.
