I have lived with depression since I was a child....and it turned into severe depression in my teens and got worse as more trauma happened in my life so basically I've been depressed for most of my life (I'm in my 30s now) BUT that doesnt mean by any means that you will be depressed for your entire life and it certainly doesnt mean your depression cant be dealt with by any means....Have you been to a counselor/therapist? If not I would seriously consider it if you havent....Have you re-evaluated your life and what the possible causes could be?
Depression isnt a sentence of doom...you need to understand that...in fact its very important that you understand that if you really want to work thruogh this...

Mine started a few years ago. Depending on how life goes depends how depressed I am. We have really had some hard times that through me in a deep depression to where I never got out of bed and all I did was cry at everything. Which didn't help the situation at all, but I could not control the way I felt.
I am still depressed to where I don't want to leave the house or get dressed for the day. I take care of my kids, but I have no energy to do anything else and some days my kids won't even be dressed for the day. I leave them in diapers only.
I am not the type to go out and get help or medicine to help...I will fight this til I feel better and can handle all the hardships we have been going through with life!
It will get better! ;)

Depression is not something for someone to handle alone and try to figure it out all by yourself. Depression is something that will eat you away bit by bit. the first stage of depression is feeling sorry for yourself and let you feel that you cannot overcome. But let me tell you that you are an overcomer. If you are determine to arise from your situation thou terrible it may seem and move forward you will make it. Speak positive, think positive, be positive, think highly of yourself for you were created special there is no one like you. Your true potential is embedded deep within you. Know arise and move forward.

fortunately, i already done with my depression...i got depressed when the father of my baby leaves us when i'm still 3mos pregnant..and it's so dissapointing, and come into the point that i'm crying every night, that i don't want to eat and thinking of bad things that i wanted to do to my self..but God is good, that i have my family to support me and to take care of me when i'm on that stage..and now, i already moved on and i already forgive the man that gives me the hurt and the pain before..have a nice day..

Go back to the time you enjoyed life and stop. Think all the good things you did which will soften your heart and bring a smile to your face. With this point in mind of good things start walking, look around happy things children play, puppies running around, watching little babies in their mothers arms, flowers hold them in your hand. Then think what a stupid you are to brand yourself as depression, when there are so many beautiful things around you. Dont be lazy and make hell of your life and the people living with you. Depression is when a person is 100% lazy and the devil occupies their brain and brands depression. Just wear beautiful and clean clothes, spray a little bit of Eau-de-cologne which will bring life to you and the people around you and go to work or else walk in a park.

Most time, its my work..with ontime deliveries and work loads. I try to divert mind on music and i feel better. We need to manage depression, as it is part of life in busy world.
But if we concentrate, we can manage it. I does it through my yoga, listening music and going out on vacation.

I can say that being sad is alright. However, depression is a different story. You should get professional help.

I have only been treated for depression for a little over two years. Once my doctor diagnosed it, it was reassurance for me that I have been depressed since I was about 8 or 9. Maybe even 7 if that is possible. I am on Effexor XR now, but it definitely has his drawn backs. I've run out of meds before and it was a solid reminder that those draw backs are most certainly worth it all.
So my question is; "Why "until now"? What has changed for you?
