As I think about my childhood days I think about all the things that we used to have that are a thing of the past or dont exist any longer.
The thing I miss the most is the ice cream truck that used to come thru our neighborhod daily sometimes two times a day, all the delicious flavors of popcicles and different treats thaey offered.I remember just waiting for that truck, listening for the music that signeled they were coming I swear I could hear it from blocks away.
What is something that you had as a child that you loved that is no longer available to you maby because of where you live or it just plain isnt in existance any more.?

I guess I"m lucky because we still have an ice cream truck that comes down the street and even at my age I'm still chasing him...lol...what I do miss is when I was a teenager the commons that I live across the street from used to get flooded with water by the city in the winter and we would go ice skating on it. I would do that now if they started doing that again.

Yes, we would shovel the dirt road across the street and somehow have ice to skate on. And in the summer, playing outside in the rain, that was heaven. But what I miss the most was packing our lunches and walking (about 1/2mile) to the local park and staying all day. We didnt' have to be with our parents either

Being away from my home country, there are a lot of things I miss in my life now. I really miss my chatting, laughing, walking and playing with my parents. Keeping my head on the lap of my mother, sometimes I even slept this way. Playing with my nephews, especially the elder one, younger was too young to play with, their innocent questions and demands. Playing cricket with my friends and brother. Get-togethers with friends and even staying overnight at their places for studies, chat, games etc. going outdoors with family and friends. Streets of my town, it's morning breeze, trucks of ice cream and other local stuff coming, chirping of sparrows, sounds of children playing outside. I mean there's a lot I recall and miss. If it was possible, I would love to go back to that time, occasionally though, as I would not like to miss the family life that I enjoy now with my wife and child:-)

I miss penny (pence) candy. You could walk into the store with a couple coins and walk out with a whole bag of sweets. There were so many things that you could get that you stood there for like ten minutes trying to figure out what you wanted. We still have ice cream trucks that roll through our neighborhood but the prices are obscene. For the price of a Nutty Bar or Fudgesicle you could go to the store and get a whole box of them.

They still exist here there are even three wheeled bikes that peddle around the parks selling icecream too.

Well I miss having those carefree days. No responsiblities! Now that I am grown, I would give anything to go back to those days. It is so funny how kids complain about being kids. They say its hard having to do homework, go to school, etc. If they only knew what us grown ups go through. I know I tell my stepson all the time that I would give anything to be in his shoes. Life was so easy, carefree, and no resposiblities. Gosh they have it made!
