Number after name

I know this isn't exactly a discussion, but does anyone know what the number in brackets after our usernames is for? I haven't a clue.

Hi pearlrose, and welcome to Mylot , the number in bracketts under your name is the number of post you have answered or started it is the total number of your activity. Hope this helps and again welcome, hope you time here is fun and enjoyable.

Ah thank you Mrsbrian, it does answer my question. I have seen this in a few places and hadn't a clue what it meant. You responded or started a few discussions I see. Fair play and thank you again
