Hi.
It seems to me as if you are from India or from the subcontinent at least and have seen the craze for cricket only. Well let me tell you that football is the game that is most popular and followed more passionately in many parts of the worlda as compared to cricket in india. Talking about hockey the infrasteucture is really bad for games like that.

Its just that different countries have craze towards different sport. In European countries, football is the biggest sport and people are just crazy about their football. There are numerous clashes between supporters of different teams. Thats how crazy these football fans are. Similarly in US, baseball is very famous. People just love baseball action there in US. And similarly in the subcontinent (India, Pakistan and Srilanka) cricket is a craze. More than craze, cricket is treated like a religion and the players are treated as gods. That is where most of the problems start. The fans can't take it when they see their sides not performing to their potential.
