I did hire a personal trainer recently, but think it was a mistake. I'm pretty motivated already. I had some weight-lifting injuries, and wanted someone to check my posture to make sure I was lifting correctly. I had seen a physiotherapist and done lots of reading on the web, and it turned out that I felt like I knew way more than the trainer.
I think they can be great, if you're new to gyms or if you have a specific goal that you want to reach, but if you do a lot of reading about fitness and don't need to be pushed, then I don't think they're necessary.

I agree I think hiring a personal trainer is a great way to get started but there is so much information out there. I have been going to the gym since January and I am amazed how much better I feel. Good luck to you.

Yes I try and get to the gym at least 4 days a week. I have never had a personal trainer but have been thinking about getting one. I think it would be good for me

A home gym would be great that allows you to control your time. I am working towards that.

No we don't go to a gym. We have the bowflex, a bike, free weights, & a treadmill here at home. A personal trainer for my husband and son wouldn't be bad, just can't afford it lol.
