One of the guys that works with my husband gave him several banana plants to put around our pool. He says they dig them up at the end of the summer and put them under the house...does anyone else do this...cant you just leave them planted and mulch around them real good..I live in NC..

Since they are just banana plants I would recommend storing them for winter.
If you know what they are such as Musa hookeri or Musa sikkimensis then you know what kind of banana you have.
There are species that will survive your winter. So you are taking a chance.
What kind of pool is it, above or in ground?

If you were planting them around your house or a place that would provide winter protection it might be safe to use the extra mulch. However I recommend that you dig them up for the winter.
