1st Response in a Discussion, do you try to make it a good one?

When you are sifting through the mylot discussions and decide to pop a discussion cherry by being the first to post in it, do you try and make your response more detailed.
When I see a discussion that has not been responded to and decide to post in it I feel a pressure to put more effort into it. By deciding to be the first post I feel that I have a responsibility to set the course for following posts. Sometimes, if I am not too enthusiastic about the topic I prefer not to be the first poster at risk of disappointing the original author.
Does anyone else think like this?

I believe in genuine thought and the rest you do not have to fear. Today what people are looking is for sincere and genuine thoughts doesnt matter it is rude or polite. I am sure this will make the author happy.

It depends on what the discussion is about. If the question is: What do you like on pizza, well that doesn't leave a lot of room for a snazzy answer.

I try to make it a habit to give a really good, quality answer to any discussion. Mostly this is because I would want the responses to my discussions to be of good quality, and I feel that if the discussion is good enough that I want to respond to it, then it deserves a quality response. I don't always do the discussions I respond to justice with my responses, but I do try to give good ones.
