When A Person's Voice Does Not Match Their Appearance

Do people ever tell you that you don't look like how you sound? This has never happened to me personally, but I have often formed an image in my mind of the way a person looks based upon the sound of their voice. For example, before I saw a picture of a radio talk show host I formed an image of him in my mind. Based upon the sound of his voice, I pictured him to be around 60-years-old, portly and balding. Well, it turns out that he is in his late 40s, is slim, and has a full head of hair! How wrong could I be! Has this ever happened to you? Perhaps you were set up on a blind date and you spoke to the person on the phone to arrange the date. You formed an image of them in your mind but they turned out to look absolutely NOTHING like what you pictured. Or maybe you have a supernatural ability to accurately picture what a person looks like based upon the sound of their voice. You never know. Do you have any interesting or amusing stories to share along these lines?

I have seen this many times. You see someone, and then they open their mouth and something entirely different comes out. Like a small woman with a very deep voice. I had a woman once, who I thought would sound like MInnie Mouse by looking at her, and she had this almost manly voice. Boy, was I caught off guard.

I have dealt with this all of my life. My voice does not sound like how I look. I have a very southern accent and when people meet me and ask me where I am from, they cannot believe I have lived in Indiana all of my life. I have spoke with people over the phone also and then met them in person and they do not look at all like they sound either in most cases. Radio talk show hosts are a good example of this too and news casters.
