Do white squirrels exist?

I was going to ask you about them when I saw that you replied to another discussion and you mentioned them. Thanks for sharing that photo. I have never seen one. We have white deer around where I live in NY but I don't have a picture of one.

white squirrels sound cool!! here in pa, we have regular squirrels and black squirrels. i have never seen or even knew that a black squirrel exists until we moved here. they are really dark!! very cool!!

Here in TN we have the normal creatures you would find in the southern states. There is a toad that is on the endangered list and only lives in a certain area of woods and stream in the neighboring county. But I think you can find creatures of that sort everywhere. I just wanted to comment that the White Squirrel is beautiful, and to thank you for sharing the photo.

Where I'm from (Marionville, Missouri) there are white squirrels, too. :) They have the ones that have brown eyes, and the ones that have the pink eyes both. Marionville has more white squirrels than they do common squirrels. And there is a pretty hefty fine if you kill one.

Never seen a white squirrel before that wasn't an albino. They must be quite attractive with those contrasting dark eyes. All we have around here in South Wales are the grey squirrels. There are some native reds in the UK but not in so many places now. I read in the newspaper the other day that a man had been attacked by a squirrel! I can't imagine that, but they seem to be a lot braver than they used to be, they are often running along the ground in front of us as we walk along :-)

Wow, I've never seen a white squirrel, until now. If the picture wasn't here, I would have said no it's a myth. but you showed the picture, and I won't dispute it. That is really cool.
