is english ruling the world..?

i think english is the only languagee which every one commonly communicate...
so obviously english rules the world..
what is ur opinion .. am i correct with this..?

English .. it's true, it's being used more and more around the world for business. It's also true that English is the only language required for all civillian air traffic controllers and airplane pilots in the world to speak. So it saddens me when I walk out my front door and go to the corner store all I hear is Vietnamese, Hindi, or Pakistani... when I go to work almost all you hear is Spanish... we in America are loosing part of our national identity because we don't require immigrants( leagal or illeagal) to learn our national language.. we even go as far as print copies of almost anything in every language there is in the world to make it easier for new commers to not learn our language... if I moved to France I would expect myself to learn the language.. not have every Frenchman learn mine to make it easier for me... just a thought.
