Public Restrooms

OH my! I"m so with you. I just don't believe that people don't know about flushing, picking up after themselves or thinking about others that will use those restrooms after them. I read once that things like this were a sign of a decaying society, and maybe it is. Many people are so self centered that they expect that everyone else is there to serve them and to clean up after them, others yet and even worse, don't even think at all. Sometimes I think to myself that it would be really interesting if somehow technology was advanced enough not to let the door open until the toilet was flushed and stuff thrown all over the floor picked up LOL

Like you I get tired of seeing people leave messes in public places assuming that they have a personal maid that follows them every where they go to clean up the mess that they have made. It proves just how lazy some people are. I make a point to make sure that when my children and I go to places that we pick up our mess. I have explained to my children that they don't have a maid to clean up after them and that the people who work in the establishment we are visiting don't have time to do it for them so please take a moment to make sure that everything is picked up before we leave. We have gotten compliments before about how well mannered the children are. I would like to see people having to put a deposit down before they are allowed to use a public restroom. If they had to put a deposit down before they used the restroom and made sure that the restroom was still clean before they could get their deposit back maybe then they could be respectful enough to leave it the way that they found it. I doubt very much that they would go into the restroom and make a big mess if they knew they were going to lose something.

Yeah, it can be really gross when people leave the bathrooms that way! I especially hate it when there's pee on the toilet seat...it's so gross!! I sometimes accidentally drop a paper towel or a piece of toilet paper or something on the floor, but I always make sure to pick it up and throw it away before leaving!!

Most public bathrooms are gross!! It amazes me that people will leave used paper towels laying around when there is a garbage can right there. And what about flushing the toilet?? Why can't people flush the toilet when they are done using it? It is so gross to walk into a stall and see that the toilet wasn't flushed. I don't like public restrooms, can you tell? LOL

lot of people think its none of their concerns about cleaning their wastes. but don't they take in to account... that they could be the next person to use that dirty cr.. maybe they're used to be dirty all the time...

it's every where in the world, rest rooms are like pig houses! this is why I rarely use them .. maybe once in 2 years in emergencies..

Well this had been the case in my country also ... but my country consider not bad already because some of our toilet are kept clean in very high standard yea but surely not some coffee shops yea

It is so disgusting isn't it? In my opinion, the people who do this type of thing have no self-pride and no civic pride. They do not care about themselves or thier community and country. Their actions show me that they have little respect for anything and that they are such shallow individuals. They don't worry about the mess because someone else is going to clean it up, not them. AGain, they are so self-centered that they do not consider those who come behind them. Such arrogance and narsicism.

I agree completely , there is nothing more disgusting then having to use a public bathroom because of the mess and I swear these people have terrible aim when trying to pee because there is always pee on the seats . Now I don't sit on the seat to pee but I certainly don't want to see someone else's pee on the toilet when I have to go to the bathroom and can't figure out for the life of me why when they pee on the seat that they can't wipe up there mess . I think that people just assume that someone else will clean up the mess and just simply don't care but it makes you wonder what they are like at home .

It's not just restrooms. I've found that in public places, whether it be rest rooms, whether it be hotel rooms, whether it be fast food places, people don't clean up after themselves because they know that no matter how untidy they leave something, someone else has to clean it up for them. Myself and my partner have been shocked by how blatant some people are about leaving their food wrappers and trays on the tables of Fast food places, even though the garbage can is less than 5 steps away. These people don't stop to think that the staff may just be too busy to clear the tables, yet other people still have to sit and eat there! We make a point of leaving places tidy. In public restrooms, my kids have been taught to always throw their used paper in the toilet, they've been taught not to leave paper towels on the floor when they've washed their hands. In fast food places, they help myself and my partner clear our table before we leave. If its second nature to kids, you'd think that adults could follow the same example.

Years ago, I used to work in a mall cleaning and one duty was to clean the restrooms. I was often amazed that women's restrooms were often more disgusting than men's. I often wondered if their bathrooms at home looked like that. What I find equalling gross is people I see in the restroom who don't wash their hands afterwards. Yuck!

Last month I went to long trip ,at that time there was a time to come train.I wait restroom it is nice clean,with bathroom,latrin I be fresh.Paper towels.Someone came for cleaning whole hall.

i don't do it in public places because in pakistan v don't use tissues and bathroom papers. its water v use here. so v don't have to much problems here like that!!

Hah! i've seen many people go to the washroom, and not even flush. Including when they POO. Sometimes, rarely, super highly unlikely, they leave it on the ground. Sorry for grossing you out if i did.

Ewww, I hate when I go into a bathroom that hasn't been cleaned, ones like those are usually found at a mall. I'm always happy when I go into a nice restaurant and find a bathroom that is totally clean with decorations and everything. I think a lot of people have a generally uncaring attitude towards the public around them, and some bathrooms probably don't have a very good staff to clean them because they employ part time workers or something...
