Have You Ever Watched a Movie that Was So Incredibly Dumb?

I was just wondering if any of you have caught yourselves watching a movie that was so stupid, so silly you wondered like what the heck am I watching this for? And yet, instead of turning it off, you continued to watch it? One of my most memorable ones that must be an all time high in stupidity but watched like a jerk was the 1996 movie "Joe's Apartment"--the one where "Joe" moves into a cockroach infested apartment and actually makes friends with them... So fess up folks ...what incredibly dumb movie have you caught yourself watching but continued to watch to the very end

Austin Powers, any of them. I can't stand those movies, and I always said I would never watch them just from the previews. But I watched the first one finally, the whole thing, and I couldn't believe I was doing it. Joe Dirt was another one. My husband was watching it on TV, and the whole time I felt like my brain was seeping out my ears, but I didn't leave the room. I don't know why.

Oh boy...Austin Powers is so deffinitely NOT it. How can someone play in movies like that and then go on living? I would hide myself for ever.

Not for a very long time. I once plowed through a big, stupid book just because I had started it and felt nothing when I finished. I decided then and there that if I ever got into another uninteresting book (or movie) I would stop. There are too many movies and books out there and too little time to waste. Of course, if I had paid admission to see a movie I probably would sit there watch the whole thing just to "get my money's worth." Go figure!

Well that's different if you paid money to see a movie...the way prices of tickets are nowadays...you sound a bit like me...although I'm redeeming myself also..about reading a dull book--but I used to hate to start something then not finish it...but no more...like you I just usually don't like to waste too much time on much of nothing.

Speaking of great books, I just finished read Earagon. I wanted to read it before I saw the movie. Have you read that one yet? I loved it and am looking forward to getting the next one in the series.

Actually yes I have and recently. Got suckered into a movie called "Dodgeball". It was stupid but very funny in a lot of places. Couldn't believe I sat and watched it all. Watched it all the way till the end too. I did miss some of the beginning but overall it was one weird, dumb movie.

I don't like Ben Stiller either so you aren't alone there. I wouldn't have watched it normally but my niece turned it on regular tv and before I knew it sucked us in. There wasn't any escape. It was evil...just like Spongebob. There was no escape :)

omg jolene! I do the same thing. I watch for movies on Sci Fi to watch at night, and they are stupid! But I always check out the new ones. The graphics are always stupid, the acting is bad and they are just...terrible! =P There was only one I ever liked on that channel. It's called Code Red. The acting wasn't great, but the alien in it was cool, and the creatures were okay. It just looked dumb when they killed someone lol.

i have seen joe's apartment when i was still in elementary or early highschool and since i was still a kid back then, i enjoyed it. hehe. anyway, i have seen drew barrymore's and ben stiller's movie "duplex". i thought it was a wonderful film worthy of my time since the casts are both famous. but i ended up not watching it to the very end. it was so dragging and so amazingly silly.

Drew Barrymore who for the most part is a really good actress has been in quite a lot of rather dumb movies..hasn't she? Sometimes wonder what gets into the head of actors when they pick such lousy roles

I actually watched "House of 1000 Zombies" not once, but TWICE! It is the cheesiest horror flick I have ever seen. But even though it was so silly, I just had to watch it to the end the first time, just so I could see what happened at the end. The second time, I made my hubby watch it with me....and I have been paying for it ever since! He's making me watch all of his favorites over and over and over again!

It has been a while since I really became immersed in any movie watching. However, the last realllly dumb movie I watched was the Mask 2. I kinda liked the first one with Jim Carey so I thought I would watch the second one. Big mistake! cheers,

"Dragonheart" and "The Stone Monster". Sometimes movies are so bad that they're enjoyable. Take "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" or "Killer Clowns from Outer Space." I still see these two every so often on TV. Totally mindless stuff.

I have forever been in love with Bruce Willis and watch everything he plays in, BUT - Sin City ... I don't even know what to say. Am I missing something? I love cultis movies, Pulp fiction I had to watch 3 times before I could realy appreciate it. But Sin City is just the worst, most unbelievably stupidest thing I ever saw.

You know I know I have but for the life of me I can't think of one! I know there have been several but my brain just isn't working! I haven't seen that particular movie though :) Oh I remember one but I had to look the name up. "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". It was amazingly dumb but we just couldn't turn it off!

It was still a bit humorous too. Alan Rickman did the voice of this Eeyore type robot that was hilarious. I think that's the main reason we didn't turn it off.

My the second one to mention Something about Mary...I love Cameron Diaz who played Mary and couldn't understand her being in such an idiotic movie--usually most movies with Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson are stupid too, as well as anything with Will Farrell--I bet your forced to watch them --right??--You have my sympathies LOL

Lol! I do this all the time. I've seen plenty of stupid movies and never stopped watching them! They make me laugh =P One I saw that was just awful was called Pick Me Up. It is just under an hour...but it was so stupid, especially the ending! All the cheesy B rate "horror" movies are def. terrible (but funny!) too.

This is an extensive topic. A great many 'dumb' movies have enthralled me over the years. Honey I shrunk the 'anything' most of the super hero movies (I watch them avidly, but that doesn't make them great cinema) All the random 'zombie' movies (again dumb, but I loves em.. cmon people I could SO have lead those poor folks in a zombie out break and we'd of saved a great many of them.) There are a ton of them, oh and i've seen joe's apartment too. lol
