Yesterday I woke up with the flue and I am now feeling so much worse. I have called in sick from work and I am going to the doctor tomorrow If I am not any better. I have a high fever and my throat is so soar that it is impossible for me to even eat.
I was thinking about making some chicken soup, but i realised that I had no recepies and I am to lazy to look for it online.. Do you have a good one?
I was also wondering if u have any suggestions on how I can make this pass by fast. I know that many of you probably have tips from parents/grandparents and so on.
Appreciate any advice-

Marie first of all i do hope that you already feel a bit better.
Do not go to the doctor, there is nothing that he can help you with in a case of a flue.
Just stay in bad, drink warm water with Nana and a spoon of brown sugar.
Sleep alote and everything will be alright.
Just remember the first three days are terrible, but in the fourth day your fever will be down, and everything slowly will be normal again.
Do not eat anything just drink the warm water with Nana and brown sugar, or with honey.

Hello marie. Sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather right now. Whenever I'm down with a flu, I don't take any medication. I only drink lots of water. A cup or 2 of chamomile tea also helps. Try to take extra Vitamin C. I've been taking it for many years now and I can swear it helps to strengthen my immune system and I have less colds and flu.

I always buy organic tea like chamomile, green tea and lemon. I also prepare hot lemon juice from time to time to my girls whenever they have sore throat. And I agree with what you're saying, easy. Lemon is a rich source of bioflavanoid that has a lot of Vitamin C.

Awww I feel sooo sorry for you, I hate it when I get sick, the best I could do was find you my favorite chicken soup recipe, perhaps it will make you feel better. Other than that, get lots of sleep and stay in bed and get over it ...
SOOTHING CHICKEN SOUP
2 cups sliced celery
3 quarts chicken broth
4 cups cubed cooked chicken
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 cup uncooked instant rice
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon pepper
In a Dutch oven or soup kettle, simmer celery in broth until tender. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 6-8 minutes or until the rice is tender.

Hi Marie - well first, I'm sorry that you're ill. Because I'm vegetarian I don't have any recipes for chicken soup for you - but my main advice would just be drink lots of fluids and rest until it passes.I'm not a great believer in antibiotics or medication of any kind - I think the best remediy for most things like this, is to rest your body, sleep a lot, drink loads of water to keep your body hydrated (especially if you can't eat), and wait for it to pass in a couple of days. In the K we have a glucose drink called Lucozade which contains a lot of extra sugar and glucose to help those who can't eat, s I dribk loads of that, or maybe mae some fresh, home-mder lemonade with hot water, fresh lemon, and a small amount of natural honey for sweetening.
Get well soon.

I know exactly how you are feeling as I woke up this morning with the same thing . I am really hoping it is not going to last long . My son had it last week and it lasted five days and I am not looking forward to feeling this way for almost a week .
The only tip I can offer is that my mother always swore that if you drink honey and lemon in a boiled water that this will make you feel better and to get into you as much fluids as possible .
Hope you are feeling better soon , take care .

Hello,marie2473,the first thing is you should have enough rest and drink as much water as you can. When i have sore throat,i will add salt into hot water and stir the mixture until all the salt is melted, then i will use it to gargle my mouth,i will do it three or four times a day, most of the time,i will be recovered within few days, may be you can try.
Hope you will recover soon.

even I often suffer from flu. It is an irritating thing.well one remedy that I know is that you can make black tea and put some chopped ginger pieces in it. It wont be very tasty but it is effective.
have good rest and sleep well. I am sure you'll be fine soon.Take care:)

Marie, I'm sorry to hear that you're so sick. Get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids! Hopefully someone will bring you some soup, as I'm sure you don't really feel like cooking! Try herbal tea with honey and lemon- it's soothing to the throat. Also gargling with warm salt water will help the membranes of the throat heal. Extra vitamin C and Zinc will speed up the recovery, also. I hope you're feeling better soon. Now, go back to bed!!

hi marie. im sorry the flu did hit you. here are my tips
the only thing i take is neocitran. thats a drink with paracetamole, citron/lemonjuice and water. drink it as hot as possible and at least 4x a day. the paracetamol helps to fight the fever and takes the sore bones away.
with that neocitran, i drink lots of hot lemonjuice. i dont eat chicken soup, only boillon for the salt who gets loosed.
after 2 days i feel lots better and the flu has gone. hope this helps

I'm sick too. I had a bad cold. My throat is so sore that I can't eat hot food now. I don't like eat pills, but now I have to eat over 42 pills a day. And now I begin to cough. I think I should take an injection if I have a bad cough.
I think you should go to see a doctor as soon as possible. I had a bad cold in February, but I don't want to see a doctor, then I had a bad cough, and I can't sleep at night, at last I take an injection.
