Do you plan and do everything in advance?

Our teachers introduce the subjects they teach to us on the first day of class to give us ideas on what we are going to study on the whole school year. Sometimes, they even give us the requirements on that day to be passed at the end of a term (quarter, trimester or semester).
Now that you know what to do, do you take actions as early as possible?
