Hello, ipetges,i do not need to open air conditioning as it is winter in australia,i better switch on th heater:P. Even in the summer,i do not need to switch on the sir conditioning,at the day time,i am in my work place,at the night time,it will be much cooler and i can still feel comfortable without the air conditioning. One of the reason is i also want to minimize the electric bill.

I'm in upstate NY-- It has been in the 90's for 2 weeks off and on- More on than off- We have an A/c upstairs for the bedrooms- but none downstairs- Every morning we close up the house- the curtains, windows, doors, etc. It is very refreshing to come inside- It will be 90 out and 70 inside. no air-- I also love using fans- We put them in the windows at night and cool off the house- A/C really bothers my sinuses- so we don't use it unless it is high 90's and humid- and only at night- We swim alot!

We have only just started winter over here, but I know what you mean about how much it cost for electricity. I only use the air conditioner in summer when I really get desperate.

It's no wonder there are people out there that can't afford it.

If the decision was mine alone, I don't think I would have turned on the AC yet. However, my hubby cannot stand the house if it's 80 degrees or above. He must have some hot Russian blood in him!!! His office at work ihas the AC on, so home he comes and wants the same. It helps that we are on the budget plan; I agree that it adds too much money to the bill, but what can I do?? After 28 years, is ir worth the arguement?? I know the AC will be turned on!!!
