Wow.
From Slate.com:
"What's wrong with eating man's best friend?"
(By: William Saletan)
"Those of us who don't take our poodles with noodles have to think about why, or whether, it's wrong to eat man's best friend."
I think I can draw one conclusion from this discussion.
Tamskie, are you planning to move to an Asian country sometime soon?

Yeah, just because dogs are "Man's best friends" in America doesn't mean it is immoral to eat them. I believe India thinks cows are sacred, and would never eat them. It is the culture of the people, and in the end animals are animals. Whoever thinks it is alright to eat cows but not dogs is just biased. They don't care about any culture or morals except for their own and their countries. Think of India and other people before you say what you can eat and what you cannot.

I have never eaten dogs and I know that I never will, even if I had an opportunity to do so. It just doesn't seem right! Dogs are pets- they are "man's best friend". How could you eat it? I know that dog meat is eaten regularly in some parts of the world. I think that Koreans eat dog meat. I guess it's a matter of your culture and what your society determines is "normal". In the western world, we stick with beef, chicken, and pork...

I have not eaten dog meat. Neither can I get myself to try it if offered to me. I love dogs and cats too much to even think of eating them.
Eating dog meat is a controversial thing. Some countries have legislation that bans the sale of dog meat, because this is considered uncivilised. This also does not go down well with animal rights groups. There are some countries though where dog meat is eaten, such as China and Korea.
