stephen king and cameos

i noticed, as i was watching Pet Sematary, that stephen king always appears in his movies, doing one role or another. i also noticed this in M. knight shymalan, in adam sandler, rob schnieder, etc...i guess they enjoy doing cameos in their own movies. it sure looks like a lot of fun, being on something that you created.

Yeah, I've noticed this, even Ben Stiller does it in movies he produces, but you're forgetting the father of cameos who started it all, Alfred Hitchcock, he started this trend a long time ago.
Yeah, it does look like a lot of fun, when I become a movie maker, I'd do it too. Why not?

It is also great for the director to be seen. This way people recognize them, and they don't have to say, "Look at me! I directed this and that movie!" I think this helps alot at the award shows and when they are around big wigs that may have funding or work for them.
