Do you think you are a safe driver?

I see people getting into accidents on a daily basis and indulging in rash driving or some even talk on their phones while turning their cars with one hand. I on the other hand have been driving for around 2.5 years and ever since havent gotten into any accidents (thankfully) nor have i been pulled over for speeding or anything of that matter. It gets me to wonder if people are actually the "good driver" that they consider themselves to be. Now, I wont say im a mister goody two shoes.. i do sometimes go 3-5 over the speedlimit (which is considered okay), and get on the phone (i keep it short though!), but other than that i dont tail anyone or drive in a way that could possibly cause me to get in a bad situation. I have to ask you guys, Do you consider yourself to be a safe driver?

I consider myself to be a very nervous driver . I am fine on nice days but don't like to drive in the winter and don't like to drive in areas that I don't know all that well . I am fine where we live as I have been driving these roads all my life , so am comfortable on these roads but when I am in an area I don't know then I tend to be very nervous .

Yeah i like to kind of be "adventurous" in the fact that I might take a road on purpose to see where it goes and that way I have found a lot of short cuts around town. There are good and bad parts of every town and I try to stay away from the bad parts and ofcourse driving in the winter time in snowy areas would even make me nervous!

I may not be a good driver, but I consider myself a safe driver because I observe defensive driving...meaning that I always anticipate the moves of other motorists I meet, or those following me. I have experienced some close calls, like being almost hit by other motorists who seem not to know what safe driving is. Another point is that when I'm driving, I always stop, look where I'm going, and also see where other drivers are going. It's good to be always careful rather than be sorry. I also don't go so fast because it is really needless...haste makes waste, so better be safe, do the regular speed, and you will reach your destination in one piece.
